Many of our clients have asked us if we can GUARANTEE their site will be in the "Top 10" on the search engines. Who wouldn't? And the answer is, you CAN for a price. The easiest way to buy your way into SEVERAL major search engines by using Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing. Each service has contracts with other major networks (AOL, MSN, Lycos, CNet, CNN, HotBot, Netscape, iWon, etc) which ensures your ads will appear on multiple networks.
Keep this in mind when bidding on keywords: Keyword bid prices are increasing rapidly for some of the more popular keywords, especially in the major metropolitan areas. Although it's easy to think "I'll just spend whatever it takes" to maintain a top position, we've found that you don't have to be in the number one position to generate the same amount of lead for your advertising dollar.
Here's how it works: When we begin your Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing accounts, your Internet Marketing Specialist will give you the current bid price for the keywords on which you wish to bid. We recommend you set a budget that works for you. You can always adjust it up or down later. Usually, you decide on a dollar amount for the day. You can start with $1.00 a day which would be a $30.00 a month budget, or go higher. Every time a visitor clicks through to your site via searching on one of the networks that display your ads - i.e. by typing in "Calgary Real Estate" into the search box - a certain amount of money will be deducted from your account. Some of the keyword bids are as low as $0.10 per click, and they can go as high as several dollars.
