More Then Just Search Engines

At IBG Media we know that SEO is only part of making sure that your website receives extreme exposure and generates more business
Below is an overview of the fifteen major steps involved in the set up and support process for new Search Engine Placement clients. This assembly line set up allows absolute focused professionals to give our clients advice during each process along the way to a successful Web site promotion:
  1. Welcome Letter
  2. Keyword Selection Process
  3. Advertising Pages
  4. Homepage Optimization
  5. FTP Information
  6. Optimized File Upload
  7. Manual Directory Submission
  8. Themed Reciprocal Link Relationship Program (RLR)
  9. QA Inspection
  10. Work Completed Letter
  11. First Support Letter
  12. Descriptive Phrase Analysis
  13. Four Week Check Up
  14. Twelve Week Keyword Analysis
  15. Periodic Code Updates

1. Welcome Letter
First, the sales team transfers the new client to the Support department and a setup technician is assigned. To initiate the account the setup technician sends a welcome letter to the client. During the setup process the client no longer needs to be in contact with the sales team and all communications should be with their set up technician.

2. Keyword Selection Process
The second major step is the keyword selection process. This is a critically important part of the promotion. Selecting specific keywords that identify a client's product or service is one of the most important ingredients necessary to achieve success. Very general keywords are overly competitive and usually not sufficiently focused on the client's product. We have software and experienced professionals that measures the competitiveness of every keyword. The keyword selection process strikes a balance between sheer volume and giving the client a competitive advantage. Our goal is getting top placement and generating traffic that is specifically interested in our client's product or service.

3. Advertising Pages
After our client approves the keyword choices the next step is creating the advertising pages. Advertising pages are individual web pages that contain unique advertising content and attract search engines for each keyword. These pages are designed using a computer-generated analysis to conform to the ranking criteria for each of the top search engines.

4. Homepage Optimization
Next we optimize a client's homepage code. This involves developing an effective title, meta tags, alt image tags, and general advertising page code. The homepage coding changes are visible to the search engines but invisible to the average surfer.

5. FTP Information
The next step is to upload the new information onto the client's Web site. FTP is the means that Web professionals use to transfer Web content to a live Web site. Most of our clients simply provide us with the following three pieces of FTP information:
  • Site Location
  • User name
  • Password

6. Optimized File Upload
Our set up technicians use the client's FTP information to upload the optimized files to the Web site. Some of our clients prefer to rely on their own Webmaster to place the code on their site. We work with Webmasters on a daily basis, and we can deliver the content in any form the Webmaster chooses. However, it is critical that the Webmaster place the pages and the code in the proper locations.

7. Manual Directory Submission
The next step is manual submission to some search engines and directories such as the Open Directory Project. We do not manually submit our client's site to all spider-based search engines because research indicates that these types of search engines give preference to sites their spiders find through links.

8. Themed Reciprocal Link Relationship Program (RLR)
The site is then added to our RLR link building program. Link popularity is important because it is used by some search engines to gauge a Web site's importance or relevance. Since submission to spider-based search engines can actually hurt ranking, links also provide an effective way for the search engines to find the site.

9. QA Inspection
At this point all the client's Web site work is inspected and approved by our Quality Assurance department.

10. Work Completed Letter
The setup technician sends an email to the client informing them that the work has been completed. This is the official start date for the term of the promotion. The time spent during the set up process is not counted as part of the purchased promotion time.

11. First Support Letter
After the Web site setup is complete the technician will transfer the client to the Support Department. Each client is then sent a first support letter detailing the ongoing support process for active clients. At this point the client no longer needs to be in contact with the set up technician and should direct all communications to the Support Department.

12. Descriptive Phrase Analysis
A Descriptive Phrase Analysis letter will be sent to the client with tips on additional changes the Webmaster can make to further enhance placement.

13. Four Week Check Up
At approximately four weeks the Support Department rechecks code and contacts the client by phone. During this four week check we verify that the our code is still in place on the client's site and functioning correctly. Occasionally the code is removed in error by the Webmaster. If a problem is discovered the code is simply replaced, however valuable promotion time is lost.

14. Twelve Week Keyword Analysis
After at least 12 weeks a keyword analysis is recommended to replace any under performing keywords.

15. Periodic Code Updates
We periodically updates code when our research identifies changes in search engine ranking algorithms.

Our assembly line set up policy allows absolute focused professionals to give our clients advice during each process along the way to a successful Web site promotion. The average time to complete this process is about ten business days, but it is not unusual to spend a month in the setup process. The client's prompt response to emails and FTP requests will move the process along at the quickest rate possible. It generally takes at least eight to ten weeks for the search engine spiders to find and incorporate the newly optimized site into their database. The Themed Reciprocal Link Relationship program and other link improving systems will be continually working to increase the importance of the site.

The search engine industry is constantly evolving and we are committed to keeping our clients on the cutting edge of search engine technology.
